Position Overview
The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy across our warehouse operations. The position is responsible for performing regular cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, processing returns & damages, and identifying root causes of inventory issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in problem-solving. This position is located at our Frozen Warehouse.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm
Wages:
- $21.00 - $25.25 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive promptly and prepared for each scheduled shift
- Conduct daily cycle counts and make accurate inventory adjustments in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor inventory reports, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed, including:
- Zero Bin Report
- Overhead verifications
- Weekly Quantity Comparison Report
- Evaluate discrepancies reported on the Daily Outs recap from the 2nd shift
- Complete Warehouse Receiving Error Log and Replen Error Log with all discrepancies that are identified
- Process damaged goods and returns, including repacking product and returning to stock when applicable
- Support quality assurance efforts by addressing recalls and investigating the root cause of mispicks, overages, or shortages
- Receive and put away customer return products in the appropriate storage location and complete required paperwork and communication with accounting team to ensure proper customer credits
- Assist with scheduled physical inventory counts and audits
- Monitor and Maintain the Warehouse Hold & Release process including filling out the Hold & Release log, review weekly and communicate with the Purchasing department to coordinate disposition of product
- Assign picking slots to new items prior to their first receipt and complete regular re-slotting of existing products based on seasonality, movement or other factors
- Operate equipment safely and perform pre-operational inspections prior to use
- Adhere to all company policies and SQF (Safe Quality Food) protocols for product handling and storage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor, including selecting, cleaning, shipping and sort/segregation of incoming product
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in reading and understanding English to comprehend inbound orders and supervisor instructions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Capability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Skilled in operating RF guns accurately
- Attention to detail
- Ability to perform basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Inventory Control experience preferred but not required
