IDD - Lead Individual Support Worker

Position Overview:
As a Lead Support Staff Worker (Lead ISW) this position provides supervision to the Individual Support Workers; you must be available on call duty as needed. Assist clients with daily living activities in an individual’s home or residential facility. Observes and monitors client behavior and charts observations and incidents. Provides training in basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills. May assist with meal preparation, ADLs, and transportation.
Location/Schedule: Ernest Street and Ellis Street - Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that goals are tracked at home.
- Attend ISP meetings (annually, at day center)
- Weekly home meetings
- Instructs and advises individuals on daily living skills in one-on-one or group instruction.
- Performs housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, and running errands, as needed.
- Provides transportation for clients/residents to appointments and activities; including doctor appointments as needed.
- Maintains that medications are currently at home.
Technical Competencies:
- Ability to observe and monitor participants’ behavior.
- Knowledge of agency confidentiality policies
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan recreational activities for participants.
- Knowledge of agency safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to complete all daily housekeeping chores
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- The candidate must be at least 21 years of age
- 1-year direct support experience
