In our supervisor position, we are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills and desire to supervisor clinical teams in a way that their individual identities and experiences are upheld. To serve as a liaison between the Atlas Program and other community-based organizations. Candidates should have a natural passion for social justice and the ability to see humanity and dignity in people from all walks of life.
What You’ll Do
- Once fully trained as an FFT Supervisor, the FFT Therapist Supervisor will oversee, train/maintain 6 FFT Therapists. FFT Therapist Supervisor is also expected to support staff in utilizing the FFT model in a way that is authentic, genuine and respectful of the people the program serves.
- FFT Therapist Supervisor will train staff to practice through a racial/social justice lens AND maintain model adherence.
- Participate in all FFT training and consultation activities, and program reviews.
- Carry a case load of at least 5 and provide the FFT model.
- Collaborate with other service providers, including but not limited to the DYCD and New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) to move and expand the mission of Atlas. Examples include attending/planning hosting Atlas community event. Collaborating with other providers, efforts to service the community. Work with community organizations and other government systems to establish referral relationships.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct supervisor.
Your Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a field that has professional licensure. The field includes the following disciplines: Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related degree.
- At least two years of practice in the Functional Family Therapy Model and experience in leadership or managerial roles preferred.
- Ability to master and work within the Functional Family Therapy philosophy and framework.
- Willingness to carry a caseload and work with families in their own homes.
- Flexibility to work when the families are available to meet.
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to grasp and convey respect for cultural diversity, systemic oppression, and system fatigue.
- Commitment to empowering families to solve their own problems and belief in the capacity of people to grow and change.
- Ability to establish a mutually respectful relationship, in which the FFT Therapist is a full partner, empowered to solve their own problems.
- Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect program staff.
- Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Harlem office at 317 Lenox Ave. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.
- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
