Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Centerless Grinder to join our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating and setting up automatic centerless grinders, with a strong focus on precision and quality control. This position plays a crucial role in our production process, ensuring that our aerospace components meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automatic centerless grinding machines to produce high-precision aerospace components
- Perform complex set-ups on centerless grinders, including wheel dressing, work rest blade adjustments, and regulating wheel speed control
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate production of parts
- Monitor grinding processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance and quality
- Conduct in-process inspections and measurements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to grinding operations, equipment malfunctions, or quality deviations
- Maintain detailed records of production activities, including set-up parameters, inspection results, and machine maintenance
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the work area
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance grinding processes and overall efficiency
- Train and mentor junior operators on centerless grinding techniques and best practices
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper care and storage of tools and equipment
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in machining or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in centerless grinding, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing industries
- Proficiency in operating and setting up automatic centerless grinders
- Strong knowledge of grinding wheel composition, dressing techniques, and coolant management
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and complex work instructions
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
