Indiana University Health – Riley Hospital is seeking a dedicated Child Life Specialist (CLS) to address the psychosocial and emotional needs of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults during their hospital stay. Position Overview:
The Child Life Specialist is a vital member of the healthcare team, working to support children and families adjusting to illness, injury, or loss across critical, acute, and outpatient settings. You will assess the psychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs of patients and their families, and implement developmentally appropriate interventions to educate, prepare, and support them, thereby enhancing their ability to cope with the hospital experience.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advocate for emotionally safe, family-centered care, ensuring that the emotional and developmental needs of each child are prioritized throughout their care journey.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Enrollment in or completion of an internship through the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
- Certifications:
- ACLP Certified Child Life Specialist Certification required within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
