The Data Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data visualizations and analytical tools to support operational performance and business decision-making. This role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable insights through dashboards, reporting, and trend analysis. The position requires a high level of technical expertise, independence, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports using data visualization tools
- Import, cleanse, validate, and transform datasets from multiple sources to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Analyze trends, correlations, and performance drivers to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Present data through charts, graphs, and tables to communicate insights clearly
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and continuous improvement teams to understand business needs
- Translate business questions into data-driven analytical solutions
- Ensure data integrity and maintain best practices for data governance and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance tracking
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Spotfire
- Strong SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and validation
- Ability to analyze large and complex datasets and deliver actionable insights
- Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with Python and data platforms such as Databricks is a plus
- Familiarity with upstream oil and gas datasets (drilling & completions) is a plus
- Typically requires advanced-level experience in data analysis or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in data visualization, reporting, and analytics
- Professional certifications in data analytics or related disciplines are a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple datasets and deliver high-quality analytical outputs
- Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate technical proficiency during the interview process
