POSTED ON 6/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/24/2026

We are seeking a Senior Commissioning Specialist to lead and execute comprehensive commissioning activities across diverse project portfolios, including new construction, renovations, existing building commissioning, and asset management. The successful candidate will oversee both onsite and office-based operations, ensuring that all equipment, utility infrastructure, and facility systems are tested, started up, and optimized to achieve peak operational performance, efficiency, and compliance with design requirements. Acting as a primary technical representative, this individual will liaise directly with project stakeholders and contractors to deliver secure, functional, and highly efficient environments that align with client expectations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Commissioning Activities: Direct and execute all phases of the commissioning process, including Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) testing, Functional Performance Testing (FPT), and equipment and systems start-up.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work directly with project stakeholders, clients, and contractors to ensure optimal operational performance and alignment with established design criteria.
  • Project Oversight: Manage commissioning tasks for a varied portfolio encompassing utility infrastructure, mechanical and plumbing systems, building automation systems/controls, and facility operations and maintenance (O&M).
  • Technical Compliance: Verify that all building and facility systems conform to relevant codes, industry standards, and strict safety guidelines.
  • Field Operations: Conduct onsite evaluations, field testing, and technical documentation reviews during multi-week field assignments as required by project timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive professional experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in commissioning activities, with specific expertise in utility infrastructure, mechanical/plumbing systems, building automation controls, and facility O&M.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proven working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, and Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) process mechanical testing and compliance requirements.

  • Exclusionary Criteria: Please note that candidates whose professional experience is strictly limited to the petrochemical industry will not be considered for this position; a broader background in commercial, institutional, or mission-critical facility infrastructure is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: Possession of an industry-recognized commissioning certification (e.g., CxA, CCP, BCxP).
  • Sector Expertise: Advanced experience operating within Mission Critical environments or data center infrastructure.
