Pay: $36/per hr with a truck, $46/ per hr without a truck
Location: Cotulla, TX
Schedule: 8/6 Wednesday-Wednesday, 10 hour days

Job Description
The Production Technician is responsible for supporting field operations through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of oil and gas production equipment. This role involves working in a dynamic, field-based environment to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and failure analysis while ensuring safe and efficient operations. The technician collaborates across teams to identify issues, improve processes, and drive operational excellence using data-driven decision-making and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment
- Diagnose equipment and system issues and conduct root cause failure analysis
- Support pre-job and post-job reviews to improve operational performance
- Monitor and validate field conditions, collect operational data, and report findings
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, including customer or third-party concerns
- Coordinate and oversee contractor work in the field
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and eliminate defects and variability
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and best practices
- Utilize data and analytics to support decision-making and optimize operations
- Communicate effectively with field and remote teams using phone and digital tools
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, and operational activities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on field experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment and systems
- Understanding of oil and gas production systems from reservoir to sales line
- Experience performing basic failure analysis and problem-solving
- Ability to analyze data and use it to drive decisions
- Strong communication skills, both in-person and remote
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- Experience in oil and gas operations
- Knowledge of artificial lift systems (e.g., gas lift, plunger lift, compression)
- Familiarity with production equipment such as valves, controllers, pumps, vessels, and flare systems
- Experience working with high-pressure systems (up to 3,000 psig)
- Strong adaptability and ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments
- Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies and processes
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
