Position: Funeral Attendant
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week — shifts may vary (typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM); must be flexible and open to schedule changes

About the Role:
As a Funeral Attendant, you will play a key role in supporting families during their time of loss. This position requires compassion, attention to detail, and a strong sense of service. You will be responsible for assisting in both funeral service preparation and office support, while also ensuring a respectful and smooth experience for grieving families. A calm demeanor, professional appearance, and willingness to go above and beyond are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Funeral Services:
- Prepare caskets and the deceased for visitation or funeral services, including dressing, jewelry arrangement, and casket positioning
- Assist in lifting or moving the deceased and caskets as needed
- Set up service rooms: arrange chairs, tables, guest books, flowers, keepsakes, and icons
- Greet visitors, distribute programs, answer questions, and provide funeral service information
- Serve as a pallbearer when requested
- Escort families to the cemetery and operate funeral vehicles
- Clean and store company property post-service; pack and deliver family items and flowers
Office Assistance:
- Answer phones with compassion and professionalism; screen callers and collect first call details
- Greet and escort visitors to appointments or services
- Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area and ensure refreshment station is stocked and tidy
- Assist with mailroom tasks: scanning, faxing, copying, folding, and preparing memorial materials
- Enter data into proprietary systems and review documentation for accuracy
- Accept and manage deliveries
Driver and Vehicle Support:
- Safely transport and deliver documents, flowers, keepsakes, and family items to homes, care facilities, or other locations
- Assist with light vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending) for extended periods
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
