Rightstone is looking for a Control Valve Technician in Pasadena, TX. The pay rate is $25.00/hr. for a 12-month contract with a consistent Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM schedule and strong potential for renewal.
In this role, you will be the key person responsible for the precision assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of critical control valve equipment for a global energy leader. You will utilize manufacturer manuals and diagnostic tools to ensure every unit meets strict internal quality and industry standards. This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented technician with a strong background in hydro-testing and instrumentation who thrives in a high-compliance industrial environment.
What you will do:
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot new control valves and related equipment according to manufacturer specs and industry codes.
- Perform hydro-testing and utilize diagnostic equipment (such as Valscope or Profilers) to ensure valve integrity and performance.
- Locate and interpret technical installation manuals, assembly instructions, and blueprints to identify necessary corrective actions.
- Install instrumentation and accessories, performing precise calibrations of measurement equipment in accordance with quality procedures.
- Conduct Positive Material Identification (PMI) and record critical dimensions using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Utilize SAP and internal software to document test results, track parts, and maintain accurate production records.
Qualifications
- A skilled technician with a High School Diploma and a proven background in the industrial valve industry.
- Hands-on experience in control valve assembly, hydro-testing, and the calibration of measurement devices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex assembly drawings, technical manuals, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to work a consistent 1st shift schedule (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with a commitment to overtime and weekends as project needs arise.
- A reliable professional with strong communication skills and a "safety-first" mindset in a shop environment.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems for tracking and documenting technical work is highly desirable.
