We are looking for Cemetery Maintenance Specialists to join our team in Portland, OR 97086 with $19/hr. pay for a 3-month contract, temp to perm opportunity. You'll play an essential role in keeping the cemetery clean, safe, and well-maintained by operating heavy machinery and performing general landscaping and upkeep. This position is ideal for someone dependable, physically capable, and committed to doing purposeful work in a respectful setting. Requires 1–2 years of experience in grounds-keeping, landscaping, or related field, APPLY NOW!
Schedule: 40 hours per week, weekends as needed. Must be flexible.
Dress Code: Work clothes, work boots, long sleeves. No shirts with distasteful language or images.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy machinery and power equipment for grounds keeping and general maintenance
- Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, planting, and debris removal
- Ensure cemetery grounds are maintained with the utmost care and respect
- Assist with setup and preparation for interments and memorial services
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
Requirements:
- Require 1–2 years of experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, or related field
- Comfortable operating heavy machinery (e.g., mowers, tractors, loaders)
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be respectful and compassionate in sensitive environments
- Must wear appropriate work clothes and boots; long sleeves are preferred, and clothing must not display any offensive language or images.
