Compensation: $70K to $87K DOE plus bonus plus long term incentives
Our client is a large, privately owned trust company with long roots in Texas and a history of sound fiduciary asset management for high-net-worth individuals and multi-generational families.
The company seeks an Assistant Vice President to join its 11-person Trust Operations and Middle Office team.
The AVP, Trust Operations is a key member of the team and assists with daily cash processing and settlement. Trust Operations is responsible for updating and approving changes to the company’s trust accounting system, Global WealthES (GWES), based on authorized requests from the Trust Administration and Investments teams. Candidates should have a background in accounting, balancing, and reconciliation.
Primary Responsibilities of the AVP, Trust Operations
• Utilize the GWES trust accounting system to deliver quality services to clients
• Process cash transactions in the system
• Open and fund new accounts
• Close terminating accounts
• Print and mail checks daily
• Prepare daily net settlement reports of receipts and disbursements and submit settlement accordingly
• Set up new clients for online access to the client portal
• Scan daily batch work for the Trust Operations team
• Monitor and disburse incoming faxes
• Assist in maintaining trust operations policies and procedures
• Prepare vault files for assets held in the company vault
• Reconcile vault inventory with system holdings data
• Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications of the AVP, Trust Operations
• Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting and/or equivalent experience in a related field
• 1 to 5 years of trust operations experience
• Willingness to acquire working knowledge of the GWES trust accounting system and other technology platforms; experience working with GWES is a big plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Highly professional with a strong orientation toward client service
• Understand the Bank Secrecy Act and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures
• An understanding of fiduciary tax laws and the Texas Trust Code
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to implement creative solutions to unique or challenging problems ; "Outside the Box" Thinker
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Strong independent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Self-starter with strong initiative
