Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment following schematics and design plans.
- Conduct system inspections and troubleshoot issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately install equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on plumbing connections, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and electrical wiring.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for custom fabrication or repairs of metal components.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in construction or property maintenance environments.
- Proven service technician experience with HVAC installation and repair.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliance repair is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with field service operations and equipment repair techniques.
- Experience working with HVAC/R systems, boilers, and welding processes.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL or
driver license preferred. - Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
