POSITION SUMMARY: The Y is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the SVP of Childcare Camp , the Facilities Director will direct the maintenance, custodial and improvement operations of Ridgewood YMCA facilities, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.
JOB FUNCTION:
· Directly leads and supervises the maintenance staff for the branch and satellite locations including recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of full time and/or part time staff. Monitor performance of staff at all times including all shifts and employee performance evaluations. Ensures maintenance and custodial staff are trained in all aspects of their positions with highest priority to safety and workplace OSHA standards.
· Provide leadership and timely management of the maintenance work order system meeting the parameters established for the Association including but not limited to timely completion of work and adequate reporting of KPI's.
· Manage work schedule to provide appropriate professional oversight during significant facility/campus enhancements, routine, large and critical maintenance initiatives. Lead the maintenance team in support of Youth, Aquatics, and Wellness programs and proactively liaise with appropriate branch staff to coordinate seasonal operations and program transitions and special events.
· Manage all property and facilities cleaning schedules, sports field maintenance, repair and improvement work, and proactively coordinates maintenance for equipment and other facility areas.
· Assist with providing leadership and hands-on support of special events as needed (requiring off-hours shifts) including but not limited to, operational planning and logistics relative to property and facility needs in support of event day activities.
· Survey all property, facilities and grounds daily for cleaning and maintenance standards adherence and to confirm adequate work flow structure is actively responding to needs and requirements. Identifies potential safety hazards, takes necessary steps to reduce risks.
· Make knowledgeable and informed purchasing decisions relative to maintenance supplies and maintain proper inventory and operation of equipment and supplies.
· Maintain up-to-date records of repairs, status of various facility/campus initiatives, warranties and other appropriate operational contact information.
· Recruits and hires diverse staff teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
· Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
· Supervises and coordinates all maintenance and facility/campus repairs, managing both in house and vendor repairs, working to ensure timely and quality repairs. Where possible will perform, or will enlist vendor/service providers, as necessary, to properly maintain or repair building systems and related equipment.
· Coordinate and manage facility scheduling and rentals.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum three to five years industry experience with staff supervision and facility management activities, is preferred.
· Previous experience in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, power tools and landscaping preferred.
· Professional, courteous, friendly, and able to relate well to the public while enforcing branch policies in a positive and professional manner
· Self-disciplined and have strong communication skills, be well organized and be able to respond appropriately in a fast-paced environment.
· Personnel leadership abilities and knowledge of standard business procedures; the ability to determine and set priorities, capacity to respond and handle multiple tasks appropriately in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

Pay: $55, $65,000.00 per year
