Position Summary
Ridgewood Community School (RCS) seeks Summer Adventure Instructors. To join us again this year, please respond and let us know what classes you would like to offer. We are also looking for exciting ideas for NEW programming for students in grades pre K-5. Although we are accepting applications for all grade levels, we are especially interested in new programs for grades 3-5. If you are a new instructor, we would be happy to email you last year's brochure so you can see what classes were previously offered. The position will be located at either Ridge or Willard Elementary Schools.
Qualifications
Salary: This is a stipend position and is not eligible for tenure. $13,000 for 6 week program.
Selection Process: Interview

- Previous experience in outdoor education or adventure leadership is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Commitment to safety and risk management practices
- Instructor of assigned classes.
- Develop curriculum for assigned classes.
- Maintain an engaging and fun atmosphere in the classroom.
- Pick supplies for class and submit orders to RCS.
- Attendance for all days during the contracted session.
- The Summer Adventure program runs three, two-week sessions from 8:30 am-3:00 pm. You can do one, two or all three sessions.
- Courses are individually scheduled according to instructor's availability and program needs.
- Courses run 1.5 hours each day.
- Instructors are paid for 2 hours per class, per day.
- Instructors are expected to be present on all days during the session. If you have a vacation or PD hours planned during a session, please do not apply for that particular session.
