- New Jersey Elementary Teacher Certification
- New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification
- Must have experience and be well versed in special instruction
- Experience working in both inclusion and resource settings and working with special education students in grades K-5
- Must be skilled in strategic instruction
- Knowledgeable about progress monitoring of goals and objectives, writing PLAAFPs, and overall IEP compliance
- Skilled in strategic instruction in the NJ Student Learning Standards
- Knowledge of multi-sensory instructional strategies (structured literacy certification is preferred)
- Must demonstrate independent initiative for professional growth
- Must be able to effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to work collaboratively and have experience maintaining harmonious relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
