Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) system accurately during retail transactions, including cash handling and balancing the cash drawer at shift end
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections or demos
• Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales and improve customer satisfaction
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished regularly
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information to customers or vendors
• Assist with retail store product knowledge by explaining features and benefits of items to customers
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring the store remains clean and organized

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and performing retail math calculations
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures
• Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
• Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and retail store operations will be advantageous
