The Accounting Intern for our San Diego Corporate office assists the accounting department with various tasks. The role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment, requiring skills in accuracy, organization, and proficiency with software like Microsoft Excel. Key duties include supporting accounts payable/receivable, maintaining financial records, and collaborating with the accounting team on analysis and reporting. This is an entry level position.Duties and responsibilitiesAssist with accounts payable and receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and track receivables. Perform reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements and other general ledger accounts. Handle data and records: Perform data entry, organize financial documents, and ensure financial records are accurate and complete. Provide administrative support: Handle general administrative tasks as needed to support the department. Learn and collaborate: Work with the team to analyze data, take on special projects, and learn about accounting operations. Required skills and qualificationsEducation: Currently pursuing an accounting or accounting adjacent degree or experience in accounting related projects or positions.Technical skills: Proficiency with computers and accounting/financial software, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Soft skills: Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Qualities: High level of accuracy, efficiency, responsibility, and integrity. A strong desire to learn is also crucial. Knowledge: A basic understanding of financial principles is necessary, attention to detail.
