Job Title: Early Learning Child Care Staff Department: Child Care

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Status: Part-Time or Full time Hourly

Reports to: Director of Early Learning Care Revision Dates: 90 Day and 9 Month

Position Summary:
Are you a positive, energetic individual who is passionate about nurturing young minds? Join our dynamic team at the YMCA Richmond Early Learning Center, where you'll play a key role in creating a warm, supportive, and engaging environment for infant to preschool-aged children. Your mission will be to foster a safe and stimulating atmosphere that encourages children to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically, laying a strong foundation for their future success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Activity Planning and Implementation: Design and execute engaging, age-appropriate activities that support the academic, social, physical, and emotional development of children.
2. Record-Keeping: Assist the site supervisor or director in maintaining accurate records, including attendance, incident logs, behavior reports, and progress reports.
3. Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating exemplary behavior, communication, and attitudes.
4. Environment Management: Contribute to creating and maintaining a stable, safe, and disciplined environment with clear expectations for both staff and students.
5. Student Recruitment: Help recruit and register children for YMCA programs.
6. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with school personnel, community partners, and parents to enhance the overall experience for children and families.
7. Parent Communication: Regularly update parents on their children’s progress and address any concerns.
8. Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and meetings as scheduled by YMCA leadership.
9. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required to support the goals of the YMCA and the needs of the Early Learning Center.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Must be at least 18 years old.
3. Previous experience in childcare, youth development, or a related field preferred.
4. Highly organized and dependable.
5. Proven ability to work independently and effectively.
6. CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
