What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Coordinator position at Richmond Family YMCA?
Position Summary:
The After School Coordinator supports the Richmond Family YMCA’s After School Latchkey Program by overseeing administrative, operational, and quality-assurance functions across multiple program sites. This role is responsible for managing invoices and payments, coordinating and distributing supplies, performing site inspections, and serving as an on-site substitute when needed. The coordinator will have an opportunity to serve in the Summer Care Program.
Essential Functions:
1. Promotes our program with the Director of Child Care.
2. Provides excellent service to parents, staff, and students in the branch and on the phone, contributing to retention and growth.
3. Register students in our Child Care AP and in Daxko.
4. Answers the phones, emails and returns calls. Will ensure calls and messages are returned.
5. Invoice and charge families for after schooling services.
6. Maintains student file folders and records at main campus and after school sites.
7. Work with Director to create flyers or promotional items that need to be sent home to families for the Site Director.
8. Maintains brochures or flyers promoting the facility.
9. Ensure supplies are provided at each location.
10. Assists the Director of Child Care with other administrative needs.
11. Apply all YMCA policies dealing with services.
12. Will serve as a substitute in the absence of employees at all locations.
13. Ability to communicate and work with other departments.
14. Handle additional tasks as needed.
Safety & Quality Assurance:
1. Conduct routine site inspection to assess safety, cleanliness, staff performance, and program quality.
2. Document finds and ensures any required corrective actions are completed.
3. Uphold YMCA policies, state licensing guidelines, and safety standards.

Qualifications:
1. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
2. High school diploma is required.
3. Experience working with youth, childcare or after-school settings.
4. Must pass background check and meet all YMCA and state childcare licensing requirements.
5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
6. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
7. Knowledge of computers.
8. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to travel between multiple program sites.
2. Must be able to lift and transport program supplies (25 lbs)
3. Combination of work and active on-site support.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
