Job Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Skills: Computer skills are required. Knowledge of methods, materials, and practices for building and grounds cleaning and knowledge of date equipment; including scrubber and hydraulic lifts, and housekeeping procedures.
Work Experience: Minimum three years of successful cleaning in a school setting, including stripping and waxing floors. Supervisory experience is preferred.

This position is responsible for the inspections of facilities. This will include preparing plans for schools in need of training and guidance to effectively complete their daily cleaning tasks properly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Random inspections of schools and facilities ensuring they are cleaned properly and efficiently.
- Maintain a checklist with routine or daily cleaning to be completed at each facility.
- Assist the Head Custodian with assigning tasks or areas to designated employees and follow up to ensure that work is done efficiently in problem areas.
- Assist with training new employees in all phases of housekeeping, grounds care, maintenance, as well as safety procedures.
- Assist principals with scheduling and supervising established work standards of the building custodian staff.
- Inspect equipment at all facilities.
- The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, or department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
