Anticipated Opening Summer Program Grade 4/5 Teacher

Position Overview: Newport School District is seeking an enthusiastic and creative 4th/5th Grade Teacher to lead a developmentally appropriate summer program designed to support rising and current 4th and 5th grade students. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through hands-on activities, play-based instruction, and thematic learning experiences. Responsibilities: Plan and implement instruction in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with support staff to manage daily routines and student needs Monitor and assess student participation and progress Communicate effectively with families and program coordinators Ensure student safety and well-being at all times Qualifications: Valid NH teaching certification in Elementary Education Experience teaching or working with children Strong understanding of childhood development and instructional strategies Excellent classroom management and organizational skills Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for early learners CPR/First Aid certification preferred
