Anticipated Opening Summer Program 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher

Position Overview: Newport School District is seeking an enthusiastic and creative 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher to lead a developmentally appropriate summer program designed to support rising and current 2nd grade students. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through hands-on activities, play-based instruction, and thematic learning experiences. Responsibilities: Plan and implement instruction in early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional development Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with support staff to manage daily routines and student needs Monitor and assess student participation and progress Communicate effectively with families and program coordinators Ensure student safety and well-being at all times Qualifications: Valid NH teaching certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (K–3) Experience teaching or working with early-elementary aged children Strong understanding of early childhood development and instructional strategies Excellent classroom management and organizational skills Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for early learners CPR/First Aid certification preferred
