Richards School is looking for a Special Education Teacher & Case Manager to lead our specialized instruction efforts. This dual role requires a candidate who can pivot seamlessly between high-energy classroom instruction and the meticulous, compliant world of IEP management.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Instruction & Classroom Leadership
Direct Instruction: Deliver modified curriculum in a [Resource/Inclusion/Self-Contained] setting, focusing on Literacy, Math, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL).
Differentiation: Adapt general education lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with various learning disabilities, OHI, or developmental delays.
Behavior Support: Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and manage individual Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
2. Case Management & Compliance
IEP Development: Lead the creation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound).
Meeting Facilitation: Schedule and lead annual IEP meetings, transitioning meetings, and initial evaluations with parents and multidisciplinary teams.
Progress Monitoring: Collect, analyze, and graph student data to report on progress toward goals every grading period.
Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for parents, general education teachers, and service providers (SLPs, OTs, COTAs) to ensure a cohesive "team" approach.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (Master's preferred).
Certification: Valid NH Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement
Legal Knowledge: Thorough understanding of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Section 504 regulations.
Technology: Proficiency with IEP management software
