What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Occupational Therapy Provider (OT/COTA) position at Richards Elementary School?
Provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) during the summer session. The therapist will implement treatment plans, support students in achieving their IEP goals, and collaborate with educators and families to ensure continuity of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative OT services per IEP mandates.
Implement evidence-based interventions to support fine motor skills, sensory regulation, self-care, and functional school participation.
Document session notes, progress, and service logs in compliance with district and legal requirements.
Collaborate with special education staff, related service providers, and families.
Adapt materials and activities to meet individual student needs in school or community-based settings.
Qualifications:
Current state licensure.
Experience with school-based occupational therapy preferred.
Knowledge of IDEA and IEP process.
Schedule:
Part-time (up to 4 hours a day) depending on student service needs; 4 weeks during the summer session.
