Food Pantry Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and organized Food Pantry Administrative Assistant to support daily operations of a busy food pantry and home delivery program. This role is essential in helping ensure food is distributed efficiently, respectfully, and in alignment with program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones and emails; assist and communicate with clients
- Schedule appointments for pantry visits and home deliveries
- Greet clients, visitors, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner
- Maintain accurate client records and required documentation
- Prepare reports, memos, and assist with general administrative tasks
- Support food distribution, including preparing bags/boxes as needed
- Assist with receiving, sorting, and stocking food donations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the pantry
- Communicate effectively with staff and volunteers
- Follow all operational, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Perform light cleaning duties to keep the space presentable
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus)
- Previous administrative or office support experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Team-oriented with a positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all individuals with respect
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and light warehouse/stockroom environment
- May require evenings or weekends based on program needs
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, and some desk work
