Sand Blaster

Position Overview

We are seeking a Sand Blaster / Surface Preparation Technician to support surface prep operations on steel tanks and fabricated components. This role's primary focus is abrasive blasting and surface preparation, with opportunities for cross-training in related coating and finishing tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting and surface preparation on steel tanks and fabricated parts
• Grind, clean, sand, and remove rust or contaminants as required
• Prepare surfaces to meet coating and finish requirements
• Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow all safety procedures related to blasting, PPE, and dust control. This will include confined space requirements.
• Inspect prepared surfaces for quality and readiness
• Support production needs as required, including but not limited to assisting with painting, coating, or general shop tasks
• Maintain blasting equipment and keep prep areas clean and organized

Required Qualifications

• Experience with sandblasting or industrial surface preparation preferred. Including confined space safety requirements
• Ability to safely operate blasting equipment
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and PPE
• Physically capable of heavy industrial work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large steel tanks or heavy fabricated components
• Familiarity with industrial coating or manufacturing environments
