Position Overview
We are seeking an Industrial Painter to support coating and finish operations on large steel tanks and fabricated components. This role's primary focus is painting and coating, with opportunities for cross-training in related surface preparation tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply industrial coatings, primers, protective finishes, and interior coatings to steel tanks and metal structures
- Ensure proper coverage, adhesion, and finish quality
- Inspect work for defects, thickness, and consistency
- Operate spray equipment and painting tools safely and efficiently
- Follow all safety requirements including PPE, ventilation, and material handling. This will include confined space requirements.
- Support production needs as required, including but not limited to basic surface preparation and shop support tasks
- Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
Required Qualifications
- Experience with industrial or commercial painting in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Familiarity with coatings used on steel or industrial equipment
- Attention to detail and quality standards
- Understanding of industrial safety practices. Including confined space safety requirements
- Physically capable of working in an industrial shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience painting large steel tanks or similar fabricated structures
- Ability to read work orders or coating specifications
