Rhino Sports, a division of REVELxp, is hiring Security Event Staff to support Virginia Tech athletic events and other campus events in the Blacksburg area.
REVELxp is the national market leader in game day experiences and hospitality. We work with more than 100 major teams and sporting events nationwide, creating memorable fan experiences through hospitality, operations, and event support.
Rhino Sports provides event staffing personnel to local venues and is seeking dependable, professional, and alert individuals to join our Security Event Staff team. This is a part-time, event-based position, allowing you to work shifts that fit your schedule. This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work, additional income, or hands-on experience in event operations and security.
Responsibilities
Security Event Staff help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and venue operations. Responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring entrances, exits, and assigned event areas
- Checking credentials and controlling access points
- Observing guest activity and reporting concerns to supervisors
- Assisting with crowd management and venue policies
- Responding appropriately to incidents and following event procedures
- Providing professional customer service while maintaining safety standards
- Working closely with event leadership and other staff positions
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available to work weekends and event-based schedules
- Must be able to stand for long periods, including outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and professional judgment required
- Previous security or customer service experience preferred
- Must have a current unarmed security license or be willing to go through the process to obtain one
Pay
Hourly Rate: Starting at $16.50/hour
Additional Information
Travel opportunities may be available for select football games, regional concerts, and NASCAR events.
