Role: Senior technical leader responsible for the Search Platform, including the Search Engine, Indexing Pipeline, and Availability systems.

Leading architecture, building and maintaining search and availability systems, driving relevance strategies, and mentoring teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and impactful search functionality.

- Design, develop, and own the architecture of the search engine and indexing workflows.
- Lead the development of availability filtering and ranking strategies to optimize order fulfillment and customer experience.
- Collaborate across teams to define APIs, manage migrations, and implement measurement and experimentation frameworks.
- Provide technical mentorship, conduct design and code reviews, and guide architectural decisions.
- Partner with platform engineering on shared services, observability, and CI/CD.
- 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in building and tuning search engines (e.g., Vespa, Elasticsearch, Solr).
- Proficiency in Go and experience with real-time data pipelines (Kafka, event streaming).
- Strong understanding of relevance, ranking signals, and translating product goals into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, collaborative mindset, and systems thinking.
- Experience with workflow orchestration and geospatial systems is a plus.
