Job Description: HPE Server L2 Data Center Hardware Engineer

Role Summary: Rexus USA LLC is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to perform the physical installation and verification of HPE MSL LTO-9 45000 FC Drive Upgrade Kits and related components at a customer location in Atlanta, GA. The engineer will be responsible for installing six (6) LTO-9 drive upgrade kits into an existing tape library, validating functionality, and providing a completion report upon successful testing.
Key Responsibilities
A. Installation Activities
- Unpack and inspect all HPE hardware to ensure no damage or missing components.
- Install six (6) HPE MSL LTO-9 45000 FC Drive Upgrade Kits into the existing tape library.
- Connect Fibre Channel cables and verify proper connectivity with the library and SAN environment.
- Power on the system and confirm that each drive is recognized by the tape library.
- Perform firmware checks and apply updates if required.
- Conduct drive functionality testing using HPE diagnostic tools.
- Label, document, and verify proper identification of all installed components.
B. Verification & Testing
- Validate operational readiness of all installed LTO-9 drives.
- Confirm integration of the upgraded drives with the host backup application (if applicable).
- Verify that all drives appear correctly in the management interface.
- Perform a sample read/write test to ensure successful data access and functionality.
C. Post-Installation Activities
- Clean up the workspace and remove packing materials.
- Prepare and submit a comprehensive post-installation verification report detailing work performed and final system status.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with HPE MSL libraries, LTO drives, and Fibre Channel environments.
- Hands-on experience with tape library hardware upgrades and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with SAN connectivity, firmware management, and HPE diagnostic tools.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and onsite at the customer location.
