Job Title: IT Program Manager – Hybrid, Columbia SC – US Citizenship Required
Position Summary
The IT Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, execution, governance, and delivery of project and program initiatives supporting organizational technology and business objectives. This role oversees multiple work efforts ranging from moderate to highly complex system and customer impacts while ensuring alignment with project management methodologies, organizational standards, and stakeholder expectations.
The IT Program Manager leads projects from initiation through final business acceptance and implementation, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. This position provides leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction while promoting collaboration across business and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, risk management strategies, and project documentation throughout the full project lifecycle, including post-implementation activities.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and program workstreams while ensuring adherence to established project management methodologies and governance standards.
- Track milestones, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure successful project execution.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, scope changes, and resource constraints, escalating concerns appropriately to leadership.
- Lead projects from inception through implementation and business acceptance.
- Facilitate effective communication among business stakeholders, technical teams, leadership, and external partners through meetings, status reporting, and documentation.
- Maintain audit-ready project documentation aligned with organizational and Information Security Standards Manual (ISSM) requirements.
- Monitor project performance metrics and adjust plans as necessary to meet evolving business needs.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and project updates.
- Mentor project leads and team members while supporting staff development, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform peer reviews of project artifacts and provide leadership guidance across program initiatives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Maintain and update program schedules within Microsoft Project, ensuring dependencies, milestones, and resource allocations remain accurate.
- Facilitate program ceremonies, stakeholder meetings, and team synchronization sessions using Microsoft Teams.
- Manage governance artifacts, status reports, and program documentation within SharePoint.
- Update and validate Power BI dashboards providing leadership visibility into KPIs, timelines, budgets, and risk indicators.
- Monitor workflow automation processes and demand intake activities.
- Coordinate change management activities and ensure alignment between business and IT stakeholders.
- Develop process diagrams and workflow visualizations when needed to support program clarity.
Work Environment
This role operates within a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting critical business and technology initiatives. Flexibility is required to accommodate changing priorities, potential after-hours support, travel, or occasional weekend work as business needs dictate.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR
- Four (4) years of job-related work experience OR
- Two (2) years of job-related experience plus an Associate’s Degree in any field.
Required Experience
- Minimum seven (7) years of IT experience in a leadership capacity.
- At least four (4) years leading multiple concurrent project teams.
Preferred Certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Position Details
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina –
- Schedule: Partial Onsite (Tuesday–Thursday onsite and as needed)
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
