Accountant (Contract)

Contract Length: 6-Month Contract

Location: Ripley, TN (On-site)

Pay Rate: $35.00–$40.00/hour (W2)

Role Overview

We are seeking an Accountant to provide temporary accounting support for a manufacturing facility in Ripley, Tennessee. This role supports the Operations Accounting team and focuses on general ledger activities, complex transaction support, and financial reporting. The assignment plays a key role in maintaining continuity of core accounting functions while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Perform daily accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Support month-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Complex Transaction Support

• Assist with non-routine and complex transactions such as integrations, reserves, and inventory adjustments
• Analyze transaction impacts on financial statements and provide accounting guidance

On-Site Business Partnership

• Work closely with operations teams onsite to provide financial guidance and resolve accounting questions
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities

Financial Reporting & Audit Support

• Support preparation of annual financial statements, including disclosures and supporting schedules
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and SOX documentation

Collaboration & Documentation

• Partner with global accounting teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies
• Document accounting procedures to support sustainable and repeatable processes

Deliverables

• Monthly account reconciliations and journal entry support
• Summary reports for assigned accounts and transactions
• Audit-ready documentation and SOX support files
• Documented process improvements and recommendations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
• Ability to work independently and effectively with non-finance stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Prior experience supporting manufacturing or operations accounting environments
