Job Description
Summary of Position:
The Custodian will ensure all common areas throughout the facility are well kept and cleaned at all times.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Performs general, routine custodial duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking inventory supply levels.
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Follows all Food Safety protocols while cleaning areas within the Packhouse or Greenhouse.
May assist or perform minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Able to stand for the majority of your shift.
Strong attention to detail
Education and Experience:
1 year of custodial experience preferred
Supervisory:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Greenhouse, 15%
The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
PPE must be worn at all times
Packhouse, 15%
The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality
PPE must be worn at all times
Office, Conference Room, and common areas, 60%
The temperatures are between 65-80°F
Breakroom, 10%
The temperatures are between 60-80°F
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions.
Frequently communicating with others to exchange information.
Occasionally repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
