Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Custodian will ensure all common areas throughout the facility are well kept and cleaned at all times.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Performs general, routine custodial duties including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
• Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking inventory supply levels.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Follows all Food Safety protocols while cleaning areas within the Packhouse or Greenhouse.
• May assist or perform minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Able to stand for the majority of your shift.
• Strong attention to detail
  
  

Education And Experience:

• 1 year of custodial experience preferred
  
  

Supervisory:

• This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
  
  

Work Environment:

Greenhouse, 15%

• The temperatures in the greenhouse vary depending on the weather outside
• Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year
• PPE must be worn at all times
  
  

Packhouse, 15%

• The temperatures in the packhouse are between 34-38° F to preserve product quality
• PPE must be worn at all times
  
  

Office, Conference Room, and common areas, 60%

• The temperatures are between 65-80°F
  
  

Breakroom, 10%

• The temperatures are between 60-80°F
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
• Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions.
• Frequently communicating with others to exchange information.
• Occasionally repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
