Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions, supply ordering, medication ordering, etc.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document patient care and medical records precisely
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography
- Lead patient education initiatives focusing on health coaching, chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes or cardiovascular conditions), and post-acute care instructions
Experience
- Advanced on-site training will be provided.
- Proven nursing experience in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency room, or surgical units
- Experience working with complex patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia
- Hands-on expertise in advanced procedures including catheterization (cardiac or urinary), tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical documentation confidentiality
- Skilled in triage assessments in urgent care or emergency settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and communication
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and OSHA standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
