Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. This dual-role position is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures and supporting clinical operations to ensure efficient patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
Radiologic (X-Ray) Duties:
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with physician orders
- Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety practices
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment
- Verify images for quality and accuracy
- Maintain compliance with state and federal radiation safety regulations
- Maintain proper documentation of imaging procedures
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
- Administer injections and medications as directed
- Perform basic lab procedures (e.g., EKGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing)
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Handle patient communication, including follow-ups and instructions
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT preferred or required per TN regulations)
- Active Tennessee X-Ray Operator License (or eligibility)
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum [1–2] years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Knowledge of primary care workflows
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
- Fast-paced primary care clinic setting
- Combination of clinical and diagnostic responsibilities
- Regular interaction with patients, providers, and clinical staff
