What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Specialist position at REVEL SEARCH®?
Revel Search is a premier recruiting firm with decades of industry experience, dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with innovative organizations.
Our Client - a fast-growing insurance provider, is expanding its team and looking for a driven, coachable individual to join them as an entry-level salesperson. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow under the mentorship of an outstanding leader known for his integrity, team spirit, and servant-minded leadership style.
Though a newer company, it’s backed by experienced professionals with deep roots in the staffing and benefits industry. Their client base includes staffing companies and other employers across multiple industries — businesses with hundreds (or even thousands) of employees who enroll in benefit programs that generate recurring commission income for the sales team.
The Role
You’ll start by learning the business, the insurance products, and the client base — with exposure to team meetings, training, and hands-on experience before becoming licensed. The company will sponsor your licensing process, which involves about a week of fast-paced coursework followed by the state exam. Expect about a 90-day ramp-up period to get fully licensed and ready to sell.
Once licensed, you’ll:
- Make 50–100 outbound calls per day to set meetings and nurture existing client relationships.
- Engage with employers to promote and support group insurance enrollment.
- Build relationships with staffing and other industry clients — with an already developed strong prospect list, your focus will be relationship-building and follow-up, not cold sourcing.
- Earn recurring commissions on each account — meaning you benefit from renewals and long-term client success.
The Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for someone with a competitive, team-oriented mindset — much like a former college athlete who learned how to balance academics, athletics, and time management at a high level. The team values individuals who are:
- Driven and resilient — comfortable with the rejection that can come with sales.
- Organized and disciplined, able to manage a structured day.
- Collaborative and team-minded, fitting into a culture of servant leadership.
- Quick learners, capable of absorbing information rapidly and passing the licensing exam.
Growth Potential
With consistent effort and success, the right candidate can expect to earn $55K–$60K or more within the first year, with continued upward potential as accounts grow. This is an opportunity to build a career with long-term recurring income in an organization with strong leadership, meaningful work, and a rapidly expanding footprint.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
