Director of Business Development– Multifamily Property Management
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly driven Business Development Lead to accelerate growth within its multifamily property management portfolio. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing new management opportunities while building long-term relationships with owners, investors, and institutional partners.
This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with deep industry knowledge, strong market connections, and a proven track record of winning new business in the multifamily space.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new multifamily property management opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with property owners, developers, investors, and brokers
- Develop strategic partnerships to drive consistent deal flow
- Lead the full business development lifecycle from prospecting through contract execution
- Collaborate with operations, marketing, and executive leadership to align growth strategy
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and competitive positioning
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and RFP responses
- Maintain a robust pipeline and consistently meet or exceed growth targets
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in multifamily property management, real estate, or related business development roles
- Proven track record of sourcing and closing third-party management deals
- Strong network within the multifamily real estate industry (owners, investors, brokers)
- Experience working with institutional and private owners preferred
- Deep understanding of property management operations, financials, and value drivers
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-starter with a high level of accountability and entrepreneurial mindset
- Proficiency with CRM tools and pipeline management
Preferred Experience
- Experience in third-party property management firms
- Exposure to both market-rate and value-add assets
- Familiarity with ownership structures (REITs, private equity, syndications)
