Clinical Q&A Manager
Location: Hybrid / 2-3 days a week onsite
Reports to: Director of Medical Operations
Position Summary:
The Clinical Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for leading REVA’s clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance programs across all fixed-wing air ambulance operations. This role ensures the highest standards of patient care delivery through continuous quality improvement (CQI), data-driven performance monitoring, and adherence to federal, state, and international regulations.
The Clinical QA Manager serves as a key leader within the Medical Management team, driving clinical excellence, standardization, and risk mitigation across all missions. This position works cross-functionally with Aviation, Operations Center (ROC), Safety, and Leadership teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality patient care in dynamic, high-acuity environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Quality & Patient Safety
· Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Clinical Quality Management Program (CQMP)
· Establish and monitor clinical KPIs and performance metrics (e.g., patient outcomes, documentation compliance, adverse events)
· Conduct routine and focused chart audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical standards
· Identify trends, gaps, and risks; implement corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA)
· Oversee incident reporting systems, including root cause analysis (RCA) and follow-up actions
· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies including:
o FAA and Aviation (as applicable to medical crew operations)
o State and Federal healthcare regulations
o OSHA standards
o NAAMTA & CAMTS, and other Medical bodies as necessary.
· Lead preparation for and participation in accreditation surveys, audits, and inspections
· Maintain readiness for unannounced inspections and audits
· Develop, review, and update clinical policies to ensure regulatory alignment
Clinical Governance & Program Development
· Develop and maintain clinical policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
· Ensure alignment with evidence-based practice and industry standards
· Provide subject matter expertise in clinical program development and expansion initiatives
Education, Training & Competency
· Partner with Training and Education teams to:
o Develop and deliver clinical education programs
o Ensure competency validation and ongoing clinical proficiency
· Provide guidance on documentation standards, clinical protocols, and best practices
· Support onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff
Operational Integration
· Collaborate with the REVA Operations Center (ROC) to ensure clinical considerations are integrated into mission planning and execution
· Provide clinical oversight for complex or high-risk missions as needed
· Participate in on-call rotation or flight status, (Preferred. Not required)
Leadership & Team Management
· Participate in Resource Management rotation.
· Supervise and mentor clinical staff and/or QA personnel
· Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team environment
· Support recruitment, performance management, and professional development
· Act as a clinical leader and role model within the organization
Data, Reporting & Analytics
· Develop and maintain quality dashboards and reporting tools
· Analyze clinical data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
· Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
· Support organizational goals through data-driven decision-making
Qualifications:
Education & Licensure
· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field required
· Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, or related) preferred
· Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience
· Minimum 5–10 years of clinical experience in critical care (ICU, ED, Trauma)
· Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in clinical operations or quality management
· Air ambulance / flight nursing experience required
· Experience with quality assurance, accreditation, and regulatory compliance programs strongly preferred
Certifications (Required)
· BLS (Basic Life Support)
· ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
· PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
· PHTLS or BTLS
