(1st Shift) Quality Control Section Leader

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Operations Manager

This is a 1st Shift Position 6:30am-3:00pm

Position responsibilities:

• Responsible for assigning the appropriate people to perform the jobs on the schedule / work orders.
• Set up verifications:
• Provide an acceptable sample for the processor at job start.
• Qualifying the submitted sample of a job start up or change. Appearance, mate & fit, dimensional verification along with color checks are to be performed.
• Approving or rejecting product based upon established samples or written guidelines.
• In-process Quality functions:
• Regular product audits to be performed to verify product conformity.
• QC Releases are to be performed on product prior to release to the warehouse.
• Work Order Processing:
• Provide printed work orders to Production in order of production needs / priority.
• Process production / product as it is completed.
• Work orders used to accurately account for materials and labor used in the production of the parts.
• Help resolve processing problems with the production work tickets.

Essential skills and experience:

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to read and communicate detailed instructions effectively.
• Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Assign people effectively
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred skills and experience:

• 1 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment

Reporting to this position: Shift Team Leaders, Warehouse Drivers & Operators

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; talk or hear; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone; reach with arms and hands; and stoop. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. Light to moderate lifting up to 15 lbs is required.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
