Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Department: Warehouse

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Reports to: Operations manager

Position Summary: Manage daily shipping and distribution operations. Supervise a team of warehouse associates

and ensure optimal productivity and safety. Responsible for various tasks such as packaging, verifying content for

shipping, receiving packages, ordering supplies, leading and managing staff. Main goal is to always ensure timely,

accurate and secure shipping distribution.

Position responsibilities:

• Negotiating the price of shipment transportation with carriers
• Keeping shipping operations within budget without compromising speed of efficiency
• Processing shipment documentation and inspecting completed orders
• Creating and implementing shipping policies and procedures
• Hiring, training, and supervising shipping employees
• Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers
• Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment
• Documenting processes and reporting to management as required
• Evaluating carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics
• Complying to shipping industry regulations and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:

• High school diploma required
• 5 years’ experience in the shipping industry

Preferred skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred

Reporting to this position: Shipping Department

Physical Demands: Subjected to lifting fifty (50) pounds, Repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing and sitting,

with or without accommodation.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the

time.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

General sign-off: The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
