Role Description
Retroaim is seeking a proactive and resourceful Skilled Trades Recruiter to join our recruiting efforts. This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for skilled trade positions such as asbestos/demolition supervisors, concrete operators, drivers, foreman, insulators, general laborers, and operational roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the trades industry, excellent networking skills, and a passion for connecting top talent with the right opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job specifications.
- Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies for skilled trade roles.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, trade schools, career fairs, and industry networks.
- Screen resumes and conducts interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws throughout the hiring process.
- Build relationships with trade schools, unions, and industry associations.
- Track and report recruiting metrics and KPIs.
- Attend job fairs and networking events for the company within the Hampton Roads area as well as additional non-local field offices.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience recruiting for skilled trades or similar roles.
- 1-3 years of experience of recruiting within an agency or an internal company.
- Strong knowledge of skilled trades job functions and industry terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requisitions and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems HRIS and recruiting tools such as Indeed, Monster, Zip Recruiter, LinkedIn, and potentially an ATS system.
- Previous experience working in other markets besides the Hampton Roads.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Knowledge of labor market trends and workforce development programs.
