Job Title: Lead Server
Department: Restaurant-FOH
Status: Regular, Full or Part-Time
Reports to: FOH Manager
The Lead Server / Banquet Captain is an integral member of the restaurant team that coordinates work activities among all front-of-house service staff and various banquet & wedding events to ensure better flow of service; liaise with back-of-house staff to expedite service. Support the training of team members to ensure consistency in the steps of service.
Also, touch tables during the shift to check on guests and expedite service. Resolve guest issues encountered by the service staff. Key access to POS in the absence of a supervisor or a manager. Complete opening and closing duties as well as appropriate side work as designated by established procedures. All other duties as assigned.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Coordinate work activities among all front-of-house service staff to ensure better flow of service; liaise with back-of-house staff to expedite service.
- Support the training of team members to ensure consistency in the steps of service.
- Touch tables during the shift to check on guests and expedite service.
- Provide direction and guidance to all front-of-house service staff in the absence of a supervisor or a manager.
- Resolve guest issues encountered by the service staff in the absence of a supervisor or a manager.
- Key access to POS in the absence of a supervisor or a manager.
- Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant computer system for placing food orders.
- Learn and know all menu items, prices and specifications.
- Know and follow federal and state laws and company policies related to the sale of alcohol.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
- Complete opening and closing duties as well as appropriate side work as designated by established procedures.
- Know and abide by all environmental policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications: ServSafe (preferred but not required)
- Work Experience(s): General Serving, Banquet Serving, and/or Customer Service (preferred but not required).
- Availability: Flexible and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
