Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate press-ready files based on supplied specifications; make changes as necessary to meet customer approval.
- Collaborate closely with prepress, customer service, production, and sales personnel about layout, design, and specifications.
- Utilize knowledge and understanding of prepress and printing capabilities of RLG equipment (flexographic and digital).
- Prepare concept art by designing examples of art arrangement, size, typography, and style.
- Participate in prepress activities such as trapping, overprinting, remapping of colors, knockouts, bleeding, and color correction.
- Troubleshoot design and printing issues.
- Review final layouts and copy.
- Follow product timelines to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, design, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a graphic designer, graphic artist or a related field.
- Demonstrated graphic design and typographic skills.
- In-depth knowledge of printing processes and software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator) and MS Office.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Understanding of production, product packaging and advertisements.
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Strong analytical, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous and detail oriented.
