Position Responsibilities
- Independently develop commercial offers for small to medium size projects, coordinating with the assets and operations divisions.
- Work with bid teams to develop creative commercial / pricing strategies.
- Negotiate and manage Client contracts and Subcontractor Agreements.
- Supervise the project coordinators’ and commercial coordinators’ project and office-based workload with respect to cost control, billing, and subcontractor management.
- Work closely with legal counsel (internal / external) on all contractual and legal matters related to salvage and wreck contracts.
- Maintain close coordination with the company’s financial team to understand and present revenue / profit status throughout the year.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships in the insurance and shipping industries.
- Manage and develop third party and subcontractor network.
- Obtain and share market intelligence industry news.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree, Maritime Academy degree, or equivalent and relevant experience
- Minimum 5-years’ experience in commercial management, chartering, ship brokerage, seagoing/mariner experience, shipping, or related discipline
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong interpersonal and effective communicator, as well as situational awareness, is a must. Ability to establish a productive and effective method of communication regardless of the situation, both verbally and in writing, with key stakeholders and at all levels.
