The primary purpose of the PrototStudio Team Lead is to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant usage of the Product Development Team's laboratories and workshops. This small and effective team supports several lab spaces used in the research, development, and verification of Resmed's motorized blower sub-system. The labs house dedicated motorized blower prototyping tools, test and verification equipment, and state of the art acoustic test capabilities. - Provides design, reliability and other technical feedback to R&D.
- Provides updates to technical product documentation as issues are identified and fixed.
- Supports the creation test methods and documentation to ensure clear and thorough testing procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Is responsible for monitor the safe working conditions within our labs and collaborating with local EHS team members to provide continuous improvements.
- Is responsible for ensuring the maintaining the ongoing maintenance and calibration of all equipment under their responsibility.

- The primary objective of Engineering Technician Team Lead within Technical Support(PD) Job Family is to support engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype mechanical systems, experimental design electronics or specialized test equipment.
- This role leads a small team of engineering technicians and is responsible for the safety, productivity, and compliance of the laboratory spaces. Hands-on technical work will also be required to directly support the team.
- Engineering technicians work on schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to create designs, prototype components, perform testing and trouble-shooting functions.
- This also includes performing operational test and fault isolation on systems, infrastructure and electronic test tools.
- Engineering technicians assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions and in the design, construction and test of prototype parts and associated test equipment.
- The area of specialism also uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, milling machines, lathes, and specialized test apparatus.
- Performs work in a specialized area of expertise that requires knowledge of fundamental themes, principles and concepts. Typically requires a university degree or equivalent work experience.
- Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
Required:
- Prior experience leading a team is generally required to be successful in this role.
- Hand on experience using some combination of mechanical and electrical testing and/or prototyping equipment including Instron (or similar) machines, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, CNC mill / lathe, hand tools, soldering irons, etc.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to generate detailed assembly and test procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication and ability to build strong working relationships.
- Ability to receive inputs to set and maintain organized laboratory priorities based on business need.
- Prior experience in Medical devices or other regulated industry.
- Prior experience working with electric motor design, or pneumatic blower design is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
