The Product Organization at ResMed is foundational to ResMed’s ability to innovate responsibly, scale globally, and meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and product quality.

In this role, you will own end-to-end cost center forecasting, reporting, and financial governance for all areas of Product and QA/RA, while specifically serving as a strategic thought partner to the Global Heads of Engineering and QA/RA. You will bring rigor, insight, and forward-looking analysis to complex investment decisions, ensuring resources are allocated in line with ResMed’s long-term growth and risk objectives.

This role requires strong FP&A fundamentals, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to influence senior technical and regulatory leaders in a highly matrixed, global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

• Own the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-range outlook for all Product and Quality & Regulatory cost centers.
• Develop and maintain detailed headcount, opex, and capex forecasts, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and clear linkage to business priorities and cross functional initiatives.
• Lead monthly close, variance analysis, and management reporting, providing clear explanations of performance vs. plan and outlook.
• Establish and maintain robust financial controls and governance, ensuring adherence to budgets, investment approval processes, and corporate policies.
  
  
  

Business Partnership & Decision Support

• Act as a trusted finance partner to the Global Head of Engineering and Global Head of Quality & Regulatory, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.
• Provide financial insight on organizational design, workforce planning, productivity initiatives, and investment trade-offs.
• Translate complex technical and regulatory initiatives into clear financial narratives for senior leadership.
• Challenge assumptions constructively, balancing innovation velocity with financial discipline and risk management.
  
  
  

Strategic & Long-Range Planning

• Support long-range planning by linking functional investment plans to ResMed’s broader growth strategy and product roadmap.
• Assess return on investment, capacity planning, and cost efficiency for major initiatives, platforms, and capabilities.
• Partner cross-functionally with Portfolio Management, Project Management Operations, and Corporate Finance to ensure alignment across planning horizons.
  
  
  

Process, Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, models, and reporting, leveraging automation and analytics where possible.
• Improve forecast accuracy and insight generation through better data, tools, and standardized operating rhythms.
• Translate business needs into scalable financial processes and system requirements.
  
  
  

Let’s Talk About You

• 7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or related roles, with strong cost center management and forecasting expertise.
• Proven experience partnering with senior functional leaders, ideally in Engineering, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, or other technical organizations.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complexity into actionable insights.
• Deep understanding of headcount-driven cost structures, investment governance, and operating expense management.
• Executive-ready communication skills, including the ability to influence without authority.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA/CFA a plus.
