Job Summary
We are looking for an Instructional Assistant in our Resource Specialist Program for the 2026/2027 school year! In this role, you will work closely with our general education and specialist teachers, providing invaluable support in various instructional and non-instructional classroom tasks. As an Instructional Assistant in the RSP, your main focus will be providing personalized tutoring and assistance to students, ensuring their success. You'll also contribute to a positive learning environment through effective behavior management strategies. Confidentiality is crucial as you assist with implementing IEP goals and safeguard student privacy. You'll handle important administrative tasks like record-keeping, materials preparation, and progress monitoring to support classroom operations. To excel in this position, you'll need a solid understanding of child development, behavior management, and instructional processes. Following instructions, working independently with responsibility, and collaborating effectively are essential skills. Prior experience with school-age children is desired, and holding CPR certificates would be beneficial, but not required. Adaptability to meet varying student needs is also vital. The position is for the 2026/2027 school year and will start on August 12, 2026. The schedule is 6 hours per day from 7:50 AM to 2:20 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break Monday –Friday, 193 days/ year. This includes all school and holiday breaks off, as well as earned holiday pay, vacation, and sick leave accrual. Candidates interested in this position must meet ESSA standards and provide proof of the following: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b. A. A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Employment is contingent on DOJ and FBI clearance, and TB assessment clearance.
