Job Summary
We're seeking are an Itinerant Independence Facilitator to empower students with specialized needs. Your primary role will be facilitating student's independence and collaborating with credentialed teachers. You will use behavioral management techniques, maintain records, and support interventions. To excel in this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with an AA degree, 48 College units or successful completion of paraprofessional testing. Prior experience with school-age children, training in Autism, and behavior management would be beneficial. Effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability are key attributes. We have one open position at Marina Village Middle School. The position starts on January 20, 2026 and the schedule for this role is as follows: 6 hours per day, 7:50 AM to 2:20 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break, Monday - Friday, 193 days/ year. This includes all school and holiday breaks off, as well as earned holiday pay, vacation, and sick leave accrual. This position also includes many other benefits such as membership to the CalPERS retirement system, eligibility for optional medical insurance, and district-paid dental and vision insurance for yourself and your dependents. Candidates interested in this position must meet ESSA standards and provide proof of the following: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b. A. A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Employment is contingent on DOJ and FBI clearance, and TB assessment clearance. The interviews for this position may run concurrently with the job posting.
